I read quite recently an article, which was published October 17th of this year, about the struggle for girls’ education in Afghanistan. Although the Taliban dismantled sixteen years ago, there’s about two-thirds of Afghani girls not attending school.
This is because 41% of girl schools having no building what so ever, there are fewer than 20% female teachers in half of the country’s provinces, and just by attending school as a girl leads to discrimination towards girls in this kind of society.
I can honestly hear Hakim’s ghost yelling from the grave: “If Afghanistan wants success, there is no chance of that happening when they don’t educate their women!”
But I guess the Afghan Government has their ears clogged, because they don’t seem to me they are too busy prioritizing education for boys…
I don’t think Hakim will ever get to rest in peace yet, but he does rest in pieces!
